Liverpool-born Rob Macardle has lived and worked for most of his adult life in the East Midlands mainly in Accounting and Finance. Since 2008 contract roles have enabled him to travel extensively and divide his time between the U.K., France and the Far East. A B.Sc.(Hons) graduate (Politics with Economics), he has wide-ranging interests including History, Geography, Current Affairs, Art and Architecture. When time permits he enjoys European/Latin American Cinema and reads history and traditional/modern classic novels.

A lifelong Evertonian, his true sporting talent was Athletics and aged fifteen was inside the Women's 800m WR, but decided, wrongly(!), to concentrate on football. Lots of goals and a few honours along the way, but sadly, never to trouble the professional ranks. Snooker and Motor Racing are other favourites, racing in Formula Ford for three seasons in the Herbert, Blundell, McCarthy, Harvey era. These days his Motor Racing is confined to the stands, visiting numerous Grand Prix in 12 countries on 3 continents.

A writer of magazine articles since his schooldays, he has been radio broadcasting for over twenty years, specialising in News, Sport and World Music. As Chief Football Commentator for Radio Fox he has attended Leicester City home games since their Filbert Street days. Since July 2013 he has been Contributing Editor of The Leicester Drinker (local magazine for The Campaign for Real Ale). 7 Valleys Media has a number of projects in various stages of development including radio stations, books and a very long list!
